 I'm still getting this error on Windows for current master:

 Warning: version number '219' found for dependency 'pypiwin32' by
 pkg_resources could not be parsed.
 The version found by import was 'unknown' from
 'd:\\tahoe\\git\\trunk\\tahoe\\lib\\site-packages'.
 pkg_resources thought it should be found at
 'd:\\tahoe\\git\\trunk\\tahoe\\lib\\site-packages'.
 The exception was PackagingError: could not parse '219' due to
 IrrationalVersionError: 219
