second
grid of which I have been a part. I appreciate everyone taking the
time to put this together; I look forward to being a cog in your
backup solution! Initially, I have a single 500GB node available
over a DSL connection (ugh). This space was previously
available on another grid that never really got off the ground. At
some point (money has been allocated) I will upgrade this node to
increase the space and add RAID. Additionally, I plan to add some
space and a helper on a server I manage at work; RAID 5, bonded
T-1. I think 500GB to be an appropriate barrier to entry; thanks
Shawn for
sharing your insight on the problems associated with significant
sizing discrepancies. </p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">I manage IT for a small office during
the day; in a past life I was an Oracle DBA and .NET programmer
(go
figure). I'm something of a n00b to Linux, but 95% availability
should not be a problem for my node(s). </p>
