[tahoe-dev] Tahoe illustration suggestion

Hi all,
I was discussing an idea with Zooko today that might make for a fun
little project if anybody has an inclination to do it.
The goal is to show somebody who is unfamiliar with the Tahoe project
just how secure and robust it is. To do this, I imagined that first you
can go to a web page and enter some plaintext. Then, you hit the
"encrypt" button and it spits out ciphertext. Then, you hit the "encode"
button and it spits out 10 shares, each visible as a small block of text
on the screen. Each share would have a little button next to it marked
"delete", and a user could delete up to 7 shares and then hit the
"recover original" button which would recover the original data from the
remaining shares.
Taking it further, it would be fun to integrate this with the
repairer, so then a game could be created where a player would try to
destroy data versus the encoding and repairing agents. Alternatively,
the player could be the one distributing the shares while the agents of
disk corruption and decay slowly pick off unsuspecting shares.
Anyway, just some thoughts ...
Peter
