This is your invitation to attend Hack Fest 6 at the offices of
Allmydata.com in Potrero Hill, San Francisco this Thursday, the 26th
of June. This will be the 6th in the series of Hack Fests [1, 2, 3,
4, 5].
Allmydata.com will generously provide pizza, projectors, packets,
pillows, party-music, and beer. (But we need more projectors. If
you have a projector that you can bring, please do.)
This is a collaborative event in which we use projector displays to
share what we are doing with the group. We often work on hacks which
are themselves tools for collaboration or which are in the public
interest. We like openness and freedom and peer review. We like
tools to build tools and we like things that empower individuals and
small groups.
You'll be expected to introduce yourself and mention something you're
excited about. (If you're shy, you can do this on an IRC channel
populated by people who are in the same room with you.) We'll try to
take turns so that everyone gets connected to the projector at least
some of the time so that others can see what you are doing.
Doors open at 17:00, pizza arrives at 18:00 and we have presentations
and/or pair-programming at 19:00. Then we party at 20:00. Also
these things sometimes happen in different times or in combinations.
Please write to Peter Secor <secorp at allmydata.com> and me
<zooko at zooko.com> so that we know that you are coming and can plan
accordingly. Please feel free to bring your friends, and your
friends' projectors!
Regards,
Zooko
P.S. Coffee, too. Last time around the coffee was more popular than
the beer!
