Are you referring to the tutorial at

linked from <http://forge.bearstech.com/trac/wiki/DDBFS>?

I would suggest not installing Tahoe-LAFS using easy_install; follow
<http://tahoe-lafs.org/source/tahoe-lafs/trunk/docs/quickstart.html>
instead.

To set up the nodes, you can if you want follow the Tutorial page
starting from "Instantiate the nodes", and giving the path to
'bin/tahoe' where the Tutorial says 'tahoe'.
