From the subject, I gather that this is the CPU for a storage node that is
being uploaded to? Is the upload from the same machine and over a network
link with similar bandwidth capacity?

Can you install 1.5.0 on the notebook and 1.6.0 (or 1.6.1) on the desktop,
to see whether this is associated with the computer or with the Tahoe
version?
