Actually, are you sure you didn't unplug the client node that you're
using to access the grid? Tahoe is designed to allow the client node to
recover files even if it cannot connect to all of the servers, however
it cannot help with the connection between your web browser and the
client node :-). (we usually run the client node on the same machine as
your web browser anyways, so that you aren't relying upon any external
parties).
Maybe you could draw us a picture of your grid and show us which cables
you disconnected?
