[tahoe-dev] Tahoe-LAFS v1.8.0 potentially delayed by performance issue

Folks:

We've finally landed the patches (thanks to Brian) to fix all known
performance regressions versus v1.7.1. Trunk has significantly
improved performance versus v1.7.1 and even versus v1.8.0c2 in cases
where some servers that are holding the shares of the file are
significantly faster than others (for example, perhaps because they
are geographically closer to the gateway which is doing the download,
or perhaps because they are not under as much load as other servers at
the moment).

If you did performance tests of v1.8.0c2 then please do those same
tests again with the current trunk and report your results!

To get the current trunk, install darcs: http://wiki.darcs.net/Binaries

And run this command:

darcs get --lazy http://tahoe-lafs.org/source/tahoe-lafs/trunk tahoe-lafs
