thanks for the thoughts. i think part of the problem is the classic
thing of round-tripping backups. if you haven't tested doing a
restore, then you do not in fact have a backup system no matter now
expensive it was! :-). there's so much data you don't know what will
or will not be recoverable. so it is sorta a faith-based user
experience. :-}
