In addition, more recent versions of xcode no longer expose the compiler
by default. You can install the "command-line tools" subpackage, or add
symlinks to /usr/bin/xcrun from each tool name (gcc, make, etc.), or
find the compiler-tools directory inside Xcode.app and add it to your $PATH.
