Huh.. I thought 5.9 would include a newer version of LibreSSL that
wouldn't have that problem. We got a report from 'sickness' on IRC that
5.8 worked. It should have just been 5.6 that was broken.

Could you add a log of the error you got (with `pip install` and
OpenBSD-5.9) to #2746? The pyca-cryptography folks would probably be
interested in seeing what went wrong.
