 T_X: what versions of {{{tahoe}}} did you use? If you could try comparing
 v1.8.2 with today's trunk, that might be informative. My guess is the two
 shouldn't differ in this behavior, but if they do differ then that might
 be a good clue.

 You can get trunk with:
