 Dear rycee: thank you for the good bug report! I scanned through the code
 shown by the stack trace and didn't see the problem. Along the way I added
 preconditions which should identify the problem more precisely. Could you
 please apply attachment:preconditions-about-ticket1418.diff to your 1.8.2
 source tree and reproduce the problem? Thank you very much!

 I wonder if it could stem from a configuration change you've made in
 {{{tahoe.cfg}}}, perhaps to the "max segment size" setting. If so, this
 patch will tell us that this is the problem.
