 During the second Tahoe-LAFS summit (the long conversation in the
 restaurant :-) we settled on Ed25519 rather than ECDSA for signing
 introducer messages, and I think we also acknowledged that this would be
 likely to steer us toward choosing Ed25519 for mutable files. It's not
 strictly necessary to use the same algorithm, but I argued for using the
 same one on complexity grounds (and for Ed25519 being a good choice, if we
 haven't found a hash-based algorithm with a better performance/signature
 size tradeoff).
