         Type: defect | Status: assigned
     Priority: major | Milestone: undecided
    Component: code | Version: 1.8.2

Launchpad Bug: | floatingpoint

Comment (by rycee):

Yeah, sorry about not being active on this bug. I've been happy with using
my tahoe grid without helper so I haven't felt very motivated to dig
 around.

zooko: The Linux bug you linked seem unrelated since the CPU on this
computer is an old Pentium III-M, 1.2GHz and the bug was for newer,
 presumably 64-bit, CPUs.

But I have interesting news, just tried downloading and building Tahoe
 1.9.1. When I ran `allmydata.test.test_cli.Backup.test_backup` it was
successful! I thought it might be related to some glibc update or
something so I also downloaded both 1.8.2 and 1.8.3, built them and ran
the same test. They both failed in the same way as described in my
previous comments. So, I assume that some change occurred between 1.8.3
and 1.9.0 that must have fixed my problem.

Just to double check that 1.9.1 actually fixes my problem I enabled the
helper functionality and tried to upload through it, indeed it was
 successful.
