Comment (by warner):

 In the new patch (which includes a test), the assignment of
 {{{node_key_s}}} will eventually need to move out of the conditional
 {{{init_storage()}}}, which only happens if the node is running a storage
 server. (client-only nodes will get a node-key too). But that fix can
 happen after 1.10, and will happen naturally as part of the client-side
 accounting work.
