 Okay, this is very good bug isolation. I didn't quite follow the last bit
 though -- the bug is in *upstream* Crypto++ 5.6.0 and not *upstream*
 Crypto++ 5.6.1? Or it is in Debian Crypto++ 5.6.0 and not Debian Crypto++
 5.6.1?

 By the way, we have a "quick startup self-test" built into pycryptopp,
 which is an attempt to catch the most egregious of these sorts of failures
 at run-time. I wonder if it would be possible to make that quick startup
 self-test more rigorous so that it would catch this one. I guess I'll be
 better able to tell once we really isolate this bug.
