 This bug should certainly be closed as invalid or something similar. I may
 explore Crypto++ a bit further as time and interest permits but will raise
 such a discussion in a more suitable forum.

 Thanks for your help in tracking this down. It's been a tricky issue and
 I'm happy it resolved itself so pleasantly.
