 Look at the traceback: the exception happens in Retrieve. I imagine that
 the WUI operation was to upload a file and add it to the directory, so a
 Retrieve operation occurs when it fetches the previous contents of the
 directory (so it can modify and publish the new contents). No (immutable)
 Upload code was implicated in the traceback.
