Comment (by daira):

 Maybe there is a bug in the affected NetBSD versions' {{{/dev/urandom}}}
 code that returns a particular pattern, say all-zeroes, when the
 {{{/dev/random}}} entropy pool is empty, and another bug in the Crypto++
 RSA code that causes it to fail with that pattern?

 I'm clutching at straws :-/
