Comment:

 nejucomo says that he isn't, in the next week, going to get around to
 manually investigating whether his issue is reproducible and whether this
 patch fixes it. Since we have a unit test and since thedod manually
 confirmed, and since our understanding of the code is clear, I say we
 close this as fixed and make it stop being a blocker for 1.10.
