 * milestone:  1.11.0 => 1.12.0


Comment:

 We're going to kick this out of 1.11 into 1.12, leaving the "experimental"
 flag on MDMF for now. To remove it, we'll do a manual review of the test
 cases (in test_mutable.Update) and make sure they cover all the corner
 cases.
