[volunteergrid2-l] questions involving disk usage and drop_upload

Hi all,

I'm spending some time playing around on the public test grid before I
start accepting valuable user data, and I have some questions:

1. There isn't much space in my /home directory. I've created a user
called volunteergrid2 and symlinked /home/volunteergrid2/.tahoe to
/srv/volunteergrid2/dottahoe (on my raid6). Is this configuration
likely to cause issues?

2. I think the drop_upload feature is what I want. Files I put in the
local directory seem to be uploaded to the grid. However, when I
delete the files out of my local directory, the files are not
automatically deleted from the grid. Is this the expected behavior?

3. Is there an alternative to LVM/separate disks for managing the
amount of space used by other people on my local hard disk? I've set
reserved_space=200G for now to roughly approximate what I want, but
I'd prefer to set some imaginary max_space=800G parameter instead. I'm
looking into disk quotas...

4. Do I need to do anything to keep the leases on my backups from
expiring, or does the client software handle that for me in the case
of a drop_upload directory?

Thanks,
Eric
