If you use your Google Voice number as you incoming number:
- You can answer on the computer when you're at home.
- You can set up a VOIP phone over the internet and answer that at home
- Google will filter incoming calls for spam (!)
Also:
- Free calls as described earlier from your desktop
- Free calls to the VOIP phone (if you got one) with Google Voice ringback
service.
Our internet provider is our local Telco. We have one of the bundles:
- broadband (3Mb/1Mb)
- Local phone
- Unlimited domestic long distance
$70/moth
Out cell phones don't work (or barely work) in the house.
