Ok, since you started this topic, here it goes. :) I'm attaching
bender's life insurance as well -- in case I ever come back begging for
this file, *please*,anyone, provide it to me...
Until then, I just hope that nothing crashes that bad.
Seriously though, I think that this mechanism (=mailing lists) is indeed
an extremely reliable backup method for smaller chunks of information,
as long as the mailing list is functioning. There's almost nothing that
could cause a total data loss.

Yep... Use some kind of steganography, then encode it in a video with
some naked girls, and name it "Katy Perry Hot Uncensored.avi". It will
last for decades, even if it's fake.
