[volunteergrid2-l] status report?

My rationale for a somewhat long sunset time on VG2:
 - Some people are actually using the grid as shown by the stats gatherer
 - Not all members have abandoned hope of having a viable grid
 - Giving a specified window means that those riding the fence or watching
from the sidelines still have a chance to rescue the project
 - Another generation of users has an opportunity to take over the existing
infrastructure
 - Without a specified date, the grid will continue it's slow decline as
users quietly defect stranding those who do not just quit projects

We have all made a commitment to the grid and to each other. When we fail
to discuss the imminent demise of the project, we do a disservice to the
project and to each other. The grid has already decayed from a high of 21
nodes to only 13 active nodes today.

I would like to see a postmortem discussion before we close the email list.
A discussion by the users of the grid would make information available to
the developers that they would otherwise not have access to. The postmortem
should be a separate thread from this one and be titled, "VG2 Postmortem."
(The postmortem discussion should take place among the original VG2 users
even in the event of a second generation of users stepping in to take over
the grid.)

I have created a calendar event for 5:00 pm MST (GMT -7:00) 31 March, 2013,
to stop the introducer and shut down my node. I will not shut down either
before that time.
