I have tried to use VG2 to back up files, but it has never worked for me. I
tried "tahoe backup", but it hung or crashed with unhappiness errors, even
when there were enough available servers to make it "happy". I also tried
another "tahoe ..." command that was supposed to recursively copy a
directory into the grid, but that hung too. Eventually I wrote my own shell
script that would do the directory recursion and call a "tahoe cp" on each
file, but it didn't work because individual "tahoe cp" commands would hang
or crash. All in all, I have not been able to complete an initial backup.

It's a directory on my server produced by duplicity running on my laptop.
Files are mostly around 26MB, and there are 1452 of them.

No, thank you! I hope that someday I will be able to use tahoe for its
intended purpose, but for now I am happy to contribute storage capacity to
a community of people interested in playing around and working out bugs.

Good luck,
Eric
