[tahoe-dev] old testnet going down this afternoon

We're getting close to releasing 0.7.0, and we have a new public testnet[1] that's been running with the new code for several weeks now (the one with an Introducer FURL that starts with 'y3ee'). 0.7.0 features a completely different way to implement mutable directories, in which the directories are reliably distributed among multiple storage nodes. As a result, the transition from 0.6.1 to 0.7.0 is a data-flushing transition, as all of the old non-distributed directories go away.

I'm going to be shutting down the old 'xext' testnet later on this afternoon. This is the grid that's running the previous release (0.6.1, probably). If you have any precious data that only exists in the old testnet, now would be a great time to migrate it to the new one.

cheers,
 -Brian
