Comment:

 So you're using Storage Server 1 also as the client? In that case, only
 the connection report from that node is directly relevant. It is probably
 only connected to itself, via loopback.

 Could there be a firewall or other connectivity issue preventing the
 machines from connecting to each other? What operating system are you
 using?
