 Note that it's possible that the Debian cryptopp was broken or miscompiled
 or included a bad Debian-specific patch, rather than this being a fix
 between upstream pycryptopp 0.5.17 and 0.5.20.

 (Can you tell I don't really trust the Debian packaging policies or
 practices? We'd have a lot less problems if they would just follow
 upstream rather than picking out individual patches without really
 understanding them.)
