[volunteergrid2-l] open gateway taken down

I'm going to show my naivete here.  From your comments it sounds like 
the gateway is not running on Apache?  If it is, then it would be easy 
to password protect and keep Google from indexing it.

I have quite a bit of experience with reverse proxies and can help there 
if needed.
