Description (last modified by exarkun)

Hi, We are trying to bring a LAFS-Setup with Four machines(PCs).

Three machines are configured as Storage Servers and one machine is dedicated for Introducer.

Now, i am able to see in Introducer machines, saying that all three peers are connected.

Issue:

But, when i try to upload a file from Storage Server 1, 10 shares created and NOT distributed to other servers. And all ten shares are stored in the same machine(Storage Server 1).

And i can see in all the 3 storage server machines. "Connected to 1 of 3 known storage servers:".

But all the three storage servers are successfully connected to Introducer.

In this regard, Could you please help use to resolve the issue.

Thanks & Regards. Dr.Narendiran.

So you're using Storage Server 1 also as the client? In that case, only the connection report from that node is directly relevant. It is probably only connected to itself, via loopback.

Could there be a firewall or other connectivity issue preventing the machines from connecting to each other? What operating system are you using?

My Current Setup:

3 Nodes are created(using tahoe create-node) and all are enabled for storage server(storage=true in tahoe.cfg file). - Fedora 1 Node is created for Introducer and also created & enabled for storage server (so in the same machine introducer and storgae server are enabled) - Ubuntu

So totally 4 machines.

  1. At the Introducer node(again FYI: this node also created for storage server), i can see all the 4 storage nodes are connected ("Connected to 4 of 4 known storage servers:).
    • When i try to upload(mutuable) a file, shares are created and distributed to all of the four nodes successfully. I also checked at "home/user/.tahoe/storage/shares" location of all the four machines.

  1. But, in other three nodes, i cannot upload any file and distribute the shares. Becaze, all the three machines are connected to only with "introducer cum storage node" -It is saying that "Connected to 2 of 4 known storage servers". That is, loopback and introducer cum storage node. Here, I could not receover the issues, is there any configuration missed or any problem with the package version(v1.9.2)?

Architecture: I am referring a document from https://tahoe-lafs.org/trac/chrome/tahoe-RSA-slides.pdf, slide 22. To bring an Tahoe-LAFS environment by referring this page(slide 22) alone.

Your Question: Could there be a firewall or other connectivity issue preventing the machines from connecting to each other? What operating system are you using? Yes. There is a connectivity issue as i explained above. i think there is no firewall issue.

Please help us to resolve the issue.

thanks & regards, Dr.Narendiran. Replying to davidsarah:

This trac isn't really the right forum for setup issues, which is probably why your reply got overlooked. I suggest asking on the tahoe-dev mailing list or the IRC channel (#tahoe-lafs on freenode).
