    1 Hm, note that at least one of the storage servers was in a messed-up state in which it had incurred ~MemoryErrors, so it might have been failing to participate in some sort of foolscap "good-bye" negotiation, thus preventing the older connections to it from being cleaned up.  This reminds of these mysterious warnings in the incident reports (I've seen a lot of this kind of message in foolscap logs):
