[volunteergrid2-l] Tahoe Configuration Files

Greetings VG2 users,

I am working on getting my backup solution to a point where I can
recover from a catastrophic event, such as my house being assimilated by
the Borg. To access the data I put on the grid, it is my understanding
that all I needed to preserve is the root DIRCAP. This can be found in
~/.tahoe/private/aliases on a *nix machine.

It is also my understanding that I do NOT need to backup the other files
in ~/.tahoe and ~/.tahoe/private (e.g. ~/.tahoe/private/secret). These
files are used for the current running instance and are not needed to
get access to my data. I do know that a few of these files (my_nodeid
and node.pem) can be used to clone my node, but that also is not
required to access my data in the event of a disaster.

I know this has been answered somewhere before. I just can't seem to
find it in the list archives. I also figure this is good information to
review. At any rate, please correct me if my understanding is incorrect.

Regards,

Brad
