Description
Jack Lloyd contributed a patch to zfec to use SSE2 instructions which can result in around a 2X speedup. Unfortunately it instead results in a 25% slowdown! That's a mystery.

can we close this ticket in favor of the zfec ticket? I don't see how we can change the tahoe codebase to resolve this one. Providing more exposure to tickets for related libraries is fine, but it'd also be nice to have fewer tahoe tickets open :).
