Description
As shown on our buildbot -- http://allmydata.org/buildbot/builders/Zooko%20jaunty%20amd64%20yukyuk -- the "test_runner" tests fail when you run with the latest Python from Ubuntu Karmic. I've opened a ticket on launchpad which will get linked from this ticket momentarily.

Oh this was totally my mistake. The chain of confusion is documented on the launchpad ticket, but the fundamental problem was that I had a broken /usr/local/bin/twistd installed.
